Haute Couture Week in Paris is such a quick event, over in just a handful of days, but boy, does it EAT Paris while it’s going on! There was so much rampant creativity and innovation and experiments, that just scrolling the pictures on social media made my head spin.
The Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2025-2026 event took over PAris from July 7-10th, and tickets to attend ranged between $5,000-$7,000. Attending any fashion shows in Paris is of course on my bucket list, but attending Couture Week is numero uno. The designs, the physics in motion, and the amount of talent and staging is just breathtaking.
Of course some of the fashion giants, such as Schiapperelli, put on amazing shows:
Yes, I had to include the saddle dress, as that is a brilliant bit (ha!) of innovative fashion. Maybe it’s because of my own farming background, but that molded saddle, with the black gloves *chef’s kiss*
A few other powerhouses sat out this year, as they are working on installing new creative directors (Gaultier, Dior). That made room for a few newer designers, such as the very first Indian designer ever to showcase at Haute Couture Week, Rahul Mishra:
I would say that there were gossamer and creative construction themes dualing for attention throughout the week and I was living for it (see also: Iris Van Herpen)
The best show, in my opinion, was Robert Wun. I mean, come on! If you need any convincing, just watch this Youtube video.
The angles, and the color contrast, and the c*nty-ness is just overwhelming. And doesn’t the white and black number on the end remind you of a certain former Summer House alum, who showed up at the Las Culturistas event channeling the same kind of energy?? (She used different inspiration, true, but the look was along the same vein - I immediately thought of her.)
Please, do yourself a favor and look over all the looks, from all the designers, at this event. It’s such a display of art, innovation, creation, imagination, audacity, it might make your head spin in that specific ‘amazing fashion’ way.
